Parent Training – Group

Parent Training – Group 476 476 bh360

Our parent training groups focus on enhancing skills and techniques that can improve communication and cooperative behavior in individuals with autism and similar disorders. These trainings also provide valuable information, tips and techniques that can help parents better navigate the challenges that come with being a parent of a child with special needs. Offered in one of our behavioral health treatment centers, this training provides an opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn and practice effective methods that can be used at home. Bringing parents together in a group setting creates a support system and can help parents connect with others facing similar challenges.

Daycare – Specialized

Daycare – Specialized 489 489 bh360

Specialized daycare services are intended to support a child or adult while their caregiver is working or attending an educational program. This specialized level of care is appropriate for individuals who have more challenging behaviors – such as physical or verbal aggression, property destruction, self-injury, self-stimulation, or elopement – and therefore need more support than traditional daycare can provide. The service is appropriate for individuals of any age, from a 4-year-old who needs help redirecting or tantrums to an adult demonstrating severe aggressive behavior who requires 2:1 support from staff wearing protective gear. This service can also support individuals who need help with toileting or hygiene routines such as bathing, tooth brushing, dressing, etc.

With specialized daycare, caregivers can manage their work or school responsibilities and be confident their loved one is being cared for by our trained and responsible providers. Our team of specialized daycare professionals are experienced and passionate about working with individuals who have developmental disabilities. All our care providers are trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and collaborate with the individual’s ABA service provider to ensure consistency in implementation of the behavior treatment plan. In addition, all our daycare providers have passed a live scan clearance as validated by DOJ and FBI, maintain current CPR and First Aid certification, and are certified in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (NCPI).

Specialized daycare services must be provided inside of the family’s home and can only be provided for the individual authorized for care. Sessions may be as short in duration as 2 hours, or daycare support may be provided 24/7 depending on the needs of the individual. Prior to initiating care, a supervisor conducts an initial appointment to understand the needs of the specific individual and family, and identifies daycare providers who are a good match. A supervisor is assigned to every specialized daycare case.
